The fair
The Warsaw fair is the main trade-and-public gathering for Polish publishing. Poland has become an energetic translation market, particularly for commercial fiction, children’s books and serious non-fiction. Stands are typically staffed by the people who actually acquire.
Advice for visiting authors
- Have a one-page synopsis ready in English. Do not assume you need Polish on the day.
- Ask what they have recently bought from English — it tells you whether you are in the right shop.
