The fair
LIBER is a trade event for Spanish-language publishing: export, translation, libraries and distribution. It is not a public festival. For an author writing in English who wants a Spanish-language publisher, Guadalajara (FIL) is usually the bigger room — but LIBER is the place to understand the Spain-based industry at home.
Advice for visiting authors
- Book conversations in advance. Walk-up pitching is not the culture here.
- If your goal is the wider Spanish-speaking world, also plan for Guadalajara in November.
