The fair
The Helsinki Book Fair at Messukeskus is the country’s annual gathering of publishers, authors and readers. Finnish publishing is compact: the people on the stand are frequently the people who decide.
Advice for visiting authors
- A small market does not mean an unserious one. Finnish non-fiction and children’s books travel.
- English is widely spoken on the floor. Be brief and specific.
