The fair
Buch Wien at Messe Wien is Austria’s main book event, aimed at readers as well as the trade. German-language publishing is dominated by the German houses you will also meet in Frankfurt; Buch Wien is where Austrian independents are easier to find.
Advice for visiting authors
- If Frankfurt felt too large, Vienna is a calmer German-language room.
- Do not duplicate a pitch you already made to a German group’s Frankfurt stand — they share acquisition notes.
