The fair
Foire du Livre de Bruxelles is a readers’ fair with a useful professional fringe. Belgian houses, French-language independents and some Dutch-language publishers share the floor. It is a realistic place for a polite conversation, particularly if you have a book with a European or translated angle.
Advice for visiting authors
- Decide whether you are talking to the French-language or Dutch-language side of Belgian publishing — they are different businesses.
- Smaller Belgian presses are used to authors walking up. Keep it short.
